Leeds host Manchester United at Elland Road in round seven. Kick-off time in SAST, form, injuries and head-to-head.

Leeds vs Manchester United kicks off at 15:00 SAST on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at Elland Road, with Leeds seventh on nine points and Manchester United thirteenth on six. Daniel Farke’s side have not lost at home this season, while Michael Carrick’s team are still looking for their first away win of the campaign. Because Leeds beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford in April, this is a meeting with plenty of recent history.
Leeds vs Manchester United kicks off at 15:00 SAST (14:00 UK time) on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at Elland Road in Leeds. Darren England is the referee for the round-seven match. Leeds go into the game after a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, while Manchester United drew 1-1 at home with Tottenham.
Leeds are seventh on nine points from six games, while Manchester United are thirteenth on six points. Leeds have two wins, three draws and one defeat, with eight goals scored and five conceded for a goal difference of plus three. United have one win, three draws and two defeats, with nine scored and nine conceded for a goal difference of zero. As a result, three points separate the sides, and a United win would lift Carrick’s team level with Leeds.
Leeds lost 2-1 at Arsenal on 10 October, which ended a run of five league games without defeat. Before that, they drew 0-0 at home with Crystal Palace, beat Newcastle 4-1 at Elland Road, drew 1-1 at Brighton, drew 1-1 at home with Brentford and won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend. In addition, Leeds have two clean sheets in six games.
Notably, Elland Road has been a safe place for Leeds this season. They have taken five points from three home games, with one win and two draws, and they have not been beaten there. Therefore United will face a side that is hard to break down in front of its own fans.
Manchester United drew 1-1 at home with Tottenham on 10 October, their third draw in the last four league games. Before that, they drew 1-1 at Fulham, lost 1-0 at home to Manchester City, drew 2-2 at Everton, beat Ipswich 5-2 at Old Trafford and lost 2-0 at Hull City in their opening match. Meanwhile, United have not kept a clean sheet in six league games, and they have failed to score in two of them.
However, there are positives for Carrick. His side have scored nine goals, including five against Ipswich, and they have drawn three of their last four. Their away record is two points from three games, which is a modest return but not a disastrous one.
Leeds have three players listed as injured: Joseph (knee), Rodon (muscle) and James (back). Manchester United have a longer list, with Patrick Dorgu (hamstring), Benjamin Šeško (leg), Manuel Ugarte (knee), Tom Heaton (abdominal strain), Kobbie Mainoo, Noussair Mazraoui and Luke Shaw all named. Because injury lists change quickly, the confirmed line-ups about an hour before kick-off will give the clearest picture.
Manchester United score late and concede late. Seven of their nine league goals have come after the 60th minute, and four of the nine they have conceded arrived in the last 15 minutes. Leeds, for their part, have used two formations this season, a 3-4-2-1 and a 3-5-2, each in three matches, while United have started in a 4-2-3-1 in all six. In addition, Leeds average 1.7 goals per game at home and concede 0.7, whereas United average 1.0 goals per game away and concede 1.7. Therefore the stylistic and statistical contrast favours the hosts on paper, although United’s late goals mean the game may stay open until the final whistle.
Leeds are unbeaten in the last two league meetings. They won 2-1 at Old Trafford on 13 April 2026, and drew 1-1 at Elland Road on 4 January 2026. Before that, United won 2-0 at Elland Road in February 2023, after a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford earlier that month. The clubs also drew 1-1 in a friendly on 12 August 2026.
Taken together, Leeds have not lost to United in their last two league games. Even so, friendlies prove little, so the league form carries more weight.
Watch whether United can solve their away problem and whether Leeds can keep their unbeaten home run. Farke’s side have been hard to beat but have scored only five goals at home, while United have conceded in every league game. Consequently, a low-scoring draw is no more likely than a goal-filled match. Our previews of Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal and Brentford vs Liverpool cover the rest of the weekend.
